CECCHIN RED MALBEC ORGANIC
Malbec Familia Cecchin Malbec, rare and unusual flavours, fascinating vibrancy, not the usual Argy Malbec! The new Cecchin Malbec 2015 is again made with no added sulphur. Natural yeast and the non-interventionist approach of the wine maker make for a Malbec that has more of a hint of something French about it and as a result is very food friendly. Delicious red and outstanding value for this little natural gem.
At Bodega Cecchin, they play Rugby and make wine....although not at the same time. In these parts the oval ball and grapes like Carignan are revered as in areas of the Corbieres and Fitou. Although the origin of the Cecchin family is Italy having emigrated to Argentina in 1910. In 1959 Jorge and Pedro Cecchin fulfilled a dream and bought 11 hectares of vines in Mendoza and the current now much larger estate is run by their grandson Oscar Alberto. They are 100% organic in the vines and also use biodynamic practice in some areas although not all. Ferments are with wild yeast and sulphur use is kept to the bare minimum if at all, (although the 'Sin Sulfiti' Malbec wasn't made in 2014). These are really characterful wines, not the usual Argentinian fruit bomb, full of vitality and vinosity, give em a try, they are lovely.
